On January 2, 2020, Greece, Cyprus and Israel signed an agreement to build a 1,900 km (1,180 mi) underground pipeline worth $6 to 7 billion.
Although Turkey opposes the project, the countries aim to make a final investment decision in 2022 and complete the pipeline by 2025. The project, called EastMed, is expected will transport 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year to rapidly bring natural gas in Israel's eastern Mediterranean developing fields to mainland Greece via Cyprus and Crete. .
Let's thank God for this project, which is expected to make a positive contribution to Israel's economy and help Europe diversify its energy sources.
